Charlies Angels Problem

Hi all,

If a game chip is put in upside down and it gets hot what damage can it do to your charlies angels??

   Also looking for a sound board if anyone can help?

Did you re install the chip correctly and test ?

Sound boards appear on eBay from time to time. Definitely in the USA.

If its cooked you could go for the Pascal PI-1 X4 board.
It combines all the boards for the game including the sound card and power supply.
If you opt for the add-on advanced sound card I believe you can use the sound set from any of the listed games for your game.
It sure eliminates a few problems and gives you great diagnotics aswell.

+1 - although some like to keep the boards as close to original as standard, or the budget might not extend to a full replacement (no matter how good it is like Pascal's - I've got his boards in three or four games).

As for the original question - I would have thought the chip might be fried, but would that necessarily hurt the board? Might be worth noting which chip is involved so the electronics gurus can assist.

I think its unlikely any other chips in the board would've been damaged.. most likely only the one that was put in wrong. which chip are we talking about??

+1 for pascal,i have one running my cleopatra.chip is cooked.did the same thing on a bally goldball but that was the only damage

i might be able to help you with a game ROM chip, i should have one from a charlies angels i parted years ago, i'll have a look and see if i still have it!

I found the ROM chip for Charlies Angels, only problem is i cant say for sure its good though (the game was in pieces and half missing when i got it, but the MPU board was there and all in one piece) Im happy to send it to you to try out, it might just fix your game!!

EDIT: does your sound board just not work or is it missing completely??? If its there and just not working they're dead simple (and cheap) to repair
I have a system 1 sound board (1st sound board, the "fart fart fart soundboard" as Tim Arnold calls them)    have one here but i need to test it and see if it works
