Backbox LED's
« on: February 21, 2011, 01:34:58 PM »
Hey all-put a range of soft white LED's in my WCS94 Backbox today and compared to the yellow look of the WH20 I think it looks great what do you guys reckon. I will most likely also do the WH20 tommorow.

Had enough LED's to do half the WH20 what a difference-I've done the Right hand side and they really bring the blues out, the river looks great and compared to the top pic of the WH20 it sort of brings the translight to life.

I'm just about "sold" on LEDs. That white light looks amazing. Definitely enhances DMD machines.

Thanks for sharing the pictures, Pete. They illustrate the difference between the two.

There just 555 cool white 170 degree wide angle and a couple of 555 warm white 5 high power from cointaker I bought them last year but you can buy them now from suppliers in Australia at a good price.

Looks really good.

I had the two sets of three blue arrows in my BH lower PF not working properly - a current issue I thought as they worked OK with just 2. Never bothered me enough to look for the issue, but the other day I tried three LEDS in the holders instead that Greg RTBB gave me to try - perfect! Had to bend the holders away as they were too bright.

It gives a cool effect on the translite but on a Williams Dracula or a machine with dark colours and red is proberly better with normal globes.
or would you try and get red 555 to put in backbox? someone needs to experiment on that!

I wasnt convinced on LEDs until I recently purchased a Demo man with about 1/2 the bulbs replaced by LEDs. Now i'm sold & both my Demo Man and T2 are going LED.

Looks the good Peter.  Me...I'm too scared to start with LEDs cause I know that I will want them in all of the machines.......more money.

Massive difference in the backbox though.
