TRON
« on: May 03, 2011, 11:14:16 AM »
Pinball News has some new pics and a little more info on Sterns latest

http://www.pinballnews.com/games/tron/index.html

A few comments relating to a funhouse style layout.
Looks to me like the right hand side is a bit like whitewater also with the low pops and the orbit shot through the middle of them, and the ramp return to the inlane.
Looks like a better layout than the last few sterns, shame about the theme, but the colours are cool.
Will be interesting to see how it plays when we get some down here

Thanks for posting the photos. The info is well put together by the pinballnews members.
I am not sure why STERN chose a B grade movie to make a pinball machine after  !@#

( But then again, can anyone tell me when the last A grade super well made movie was actually made /shown at the theatres ? I dont think I have seen a movie for a long time that made me walk out and say WOW FARK that was a great movie. Maybe STERN has stuff all content to pick from).  !@# !@#

Yes - I see the Funhouse influences. If you are going to copy a successful layout, then Funhouse or TAF is layout you want.

First impressions - It CRAPS all over the Rolling Stones lemon (thank God!). FINALLY - a third flipper and I LOVE those massive ramps.

Brett - Stern's Terminator 3 movie and pinball ARE awesome !

Congrats on the TRON purchase/order.

The machine in LE version shld be a real nice looker, and shld play much better than other offerings due to the 3rd flipper and new layout.

When is it coming ?  Also, you know we all love photos, dont be shy with the Kodak.  ^^^ ^^^

It will be interesting to see if they have anything special up their sleeves for Transformers due to Jersey Jack competion, there are a few rumors going around about the display, but we will have to wait and see  *%*
