Cheap solder pot
« on: May 15, 2011, 02:33:55 PM »
Just received my solder pot from Dealextreme
http://www.dealextreme.com/p/150w-temperature-controlled-soldering-pot-blue-golden-220v-48761
They have four models available with different size pots/watts.
Probably only useful if you plan on tinning alot of wires, but very cheap and free postage. ^^^

Yeah, have to agree - great price.

Probably one of those tools that wont get used all that often, but when you do it will save a lot of time.

Something like this would be handy when doing a playfield swap what with all those globeholders and other bits, and even more so if you choose to redo all the solenoid wiring etc( which you should probably do anyway considering some of those solder connections are 20++ years old ) .

I have had one exactly like that for a year now and it's great. You do need some flux to slip the wire through first.

$16 seems a bargain. Probably 4 times the price at Jaycar or Dick Smiths.

Its also important to buy a real good quality solder and flux to make it worth the while.  ^^^

They just moved some things to new sites.

Some of the things still on there are illegal to import to Australia though, so you have to be a bit careful when ordering.
