Cpt Fantastic
« on: June 20, 2011, 10:17:53 AM »
One of the "ultimate" pinball machines. This one is in really good condition... should fetch $1K even with the missing backglass.... which of course has repros available.
Hope a member snags this one... not often they come up for sale without a BIN price on them.

This is a great project machine... looks like theres very little to do... and such a classic title!

Interesting. Shame Shay don't currently have any Backglasses in stock  !!!

The rest of the game looks to be in great condition.

I could have sworn that Capt Fantastic was also available as a SS as well as EM machine but apparently not according to IPDB, apart from the home use only machine .Because I wondered if the backglass was slightly different for an EM as opposed to an SS.

Looking at the history on IPDB http://www.ipdb.org/search.pl?any=captain+fantastic&search=Search+Database&searchtype=quick#439 There are some different backglasses available depending on weather you have X rated version of the game or a version with the supposedly rude bits covered up with a star. Have a look at the various artworks, it certainly gave me a laugh %.%

Shay arcade group had a repro ( currently out of stock) of the version with no stars.
I dont think CPR have ever done the backglasses and as far as I know no one else has done them either.

I would think any one who did them would try to make them as faithfull to the original as possible which is the version with no stars.

CPR are doing playfields and plastics, but no mention of the backglass. Hopefully Shay will be doing another rerun - I'd hate to see this machine parted out.

$885... was sorely tempted myself for this even though i have a project one in the queue.
Good price for Vic... shipping killed it off for me, but the wife was hoping id pick it up and we'd do a road trip via Canberra to pick up the gum ball machines  on the way.
Must admit... fancy a road trip to Melb
