Latest Project - WMS 10 opto PCB - Built or Kit
« on: June 25, 2011, 11:16:00 AM »
Now that we have finished the 24" long opto project and we have them finished and available the latest project is a WMS 10 opto PCB. To replace WMS numbers A-20246, A-15430 & A-18159-1

We have almost finished the artwork for this board and hope to have it ready in built up form and also a 'Build it Yourself Kit' around the middle of May.

We have added snap off 'wings' to the sides of the board to allow it to replace 3 different WMS versions. Also all track sizes are massively upgraded, the 2W resistors are all upgraded to 3W and are spaced off the board with brass spacers. Many extra ventilation holes have been added for better airflow. Turned pin sockets for the 3 ICs will make repairs much easier in the future as will the use of all through hole components and larger PCB solder pads.

This 10 opto board is available from some overseas suppliers (although they seem to always be out of stock?) - the problem we see with those aftermarket boards is the extensive use of surface mounted parts which makes the board VERY hard for the hobbyist to repair or even fault find.

Ours is faithfull to the original WMS design but the known weak spots have been fixed.

Expected price around $80 fully built & tested or about $65 as a full kit with all parts (prices to be confirmed).

Replacement Pinball PCBs that remain faithful to the originals
