Williams system 6 booting into audit mode help.

Hi guys had a call from a friend who's gorgar which has not been played for a while is booting into audit mode.     The quick flick on and off did nothing even when e done it several times his batteries are not very old under 6 months.
      I'm thinking it's the 5101 but it's not socketed on his game is there anything else i could get him to check over the phone?    At work sonindont have anything to refer to

Starting with the simple stuff, even though batteries are newish, I'd get him to put new ones in first,
could be as simple as a bad battery or bad connection.

does he have a remote battery holder or is it the original one on the board?
I would get him to check whether he is getting the 4.5v at the end contacts.

you mentioned that the flick of the switch trick does not work, get him to unplug the plugs for the switches on the mpu board in case there is a short or it has a faulty diagnostic button.

they are the basics i would check for.

Thanks guys for all your responses ended up being batteries got it going by opening the door and double clicking the power switch saved me a trip replaced the batteries and it's all good again.
