SPEWING

All TOM owners can probally understand my anger :) I have a new trunk on the machine and hit it today and chipped the bloody thing on the back side gee how easy do they break and my flippers are strong but not super strong/ oh well shit happens

Is this a common problem ? I've heard of this a few times. I'm just about to order one for my ToM, and I'm a little concerned  ^&^

Surely it would be under some sort of warranty ?

Yeah, only thing that suks on this game. Peter, go to RGP and search TOM trunk. Lots of ideas on how to strengthen up behind the plastic of the trunk.

Pete, if the RGP link/thing doesnt work out, I was thinking go to a hobby/model shop where they sell lightweight but very strong balsa/thin plywood that is used for repairs on radio controlled planes etc and cut some the size of the trunk panels n glue inside. Its cheap to buy, easy to cut, very lightweight, comes in every millimeter of thickness and is also very strong.

Pack it out with Selleys "KNEAD IT".. wonderful stuff. Have bogged up a broken flipper before with this stuff... worked a treat!

+1.  Knead it would work, sets like a rock.  It might pay to rough up the interior surface of the trunk a smidge with some fine sandpaper to give the knead it something to hold onto a bit better as opposed to a smooth surface which it can peel away from over time.
