Iron Man Classic ?
« on: January 23, 2012, 11:29:34 PM »
Has anyone on here purchased a Iron Man Classic. ?

I wouldnt mind hearing about it... and what the difference is between the Ironman and the Ironman Classic. ? Also, i notice that the STERN site is selling the classic for $3799 USA, plus delivery.

I wonder what that equates to in Aussie dollars ?  !@#

I am sure I read somewhere that it misses some of the hardware / software features so certain mods cant be done  like the back box led lighting effects, possibly the shaker motor kit. I think it also is scaled down with a standard door, with no coin slots and no slam switches. Not sure about power supply also.

Edit.
Also just read no magnets, and no war machine kickback, and no whip lash toy.

So the machine was lost half of its main features - wouldn't be the same anymore.

I wouldn't do it mate, besides I am pretty sure they are just for the US home market...but I could be wrong.
No magnets, no warmachine, no whiplash, no shaker option = no fun!

thanks for that Greg. I dont smoke at all, incl pot.never have, never will. and i very rarely drink alcohol.

the enquiry was for my brother about the ironman classic. he was interested in a budget style new STERN and would be perfect for his budget. he was considering selling his 2 x 1990's dmd machines to buy an ironman. the classic is the only new ironman available, so if u want a new one, u have to go that way. has anyone on here played a ironman classic ? pretty hard to judge a machine u have never played. hence the interest and questions about the classic. Daz (cowcorner) loves his ironman so much, i thought that title might be a good idea for a family member who only has room for 1 x more pin.  ^^^

Brett the classic is for the US market only mate, I doubt it if anyone outside of the US has bought one or even considered it.
I wouldn't bother playing it as it doesn't have all the magnets and the pf kicker etc etc etc, therefore it is not even half the intended game the designers had in mind.
You might be able to find a pro version nib o/s with a bit of digging around.

Bruce from AMD has just told me that STERN has advised him that there is NO Ironman Classic stock available at this time at the Stern factory.
This may change IF Stern does another small run, based on demand. So it seems that anyone wanting a Ironman, would have to search thru the various Stern dealers to see if anyone has something in stock. Classic or non classic models.  ^^^

I was contacted today by a seller in QLD who has a few NIB pins stored in his garage. He has offered my brother a NIB Ironman at a very good price. I believe the seller is raising funds for a pair of LE AC?DC pins. Thankyou kindly for those who offered me a Ironman so quickly. Thanks guys for your kind consideration.  ^^^
