Thats some good info there, thanks.
I certainly wont be buying one sight unseen and unplayed thats for sure!!

CC,

I don't want to derail this thread with negativity, but if you are intending to buy a LE full featured model, I don't know whether you will be able to take that approach anymore given Stern's LE marketing strategy.

What I am seeing is a dramatic shift from buying a NIB Stern pinball machine for the intent of enjoying a NIB game experience, to buying a game for the sole purpose of profiteering. That is, snapping up as many LE's models as your budget allows, holding for a month or two in the box (before any major details of the next Stern pin come out) and then flipping for a tidy (few thousand) profit without doing a damn thing to it.

With the money you make on that model, this then goes into funding the next LE model purchase that will come out in a few months time and the cycle repeats itself. Since the hype life cycle is so short for a new Stern LE machine (a few months at most), the "speculator" as I call them, has to offload fairly quickly in order to maximise their return.

Now this is a free market and buyers are allowed to pay whatever they think something is worth, but I do lay part of the blame for allowing this to occur at Stern's doorstep.

More evidence of this going on with a LE LOTR nib and RS LE with a 100 plays both going for 12.5k on fleabay. ::)

From Pinside
Distributors have played it. By all accounts yes this could very well be Borg's best !
Hearing VERY good things. Design, sights, sounds, everything coming together nicely.
Some of the best interation toys to date.
The last DMD from Stern ? You have that confirmed ?

It has been suggested that it is a dmd but nothing concrete yet.

Distributors in the US are already taking deposits for LE's as the LE's are being made first before the pros, a snooze you lose thing now. It's scary to be forking out big money when not even the theme is set in place, let alone looks etc.

Rumours are the photos being released next Monday 4th to Tuesday 5th......

from Pingame Journal

"May 30, 2012--Stern's Next Game! (sort of ...)While the official announcement concerning the next Stern game is expected soon, the PinGame Journal presents these images while members of the design team take a look at the new cabinets that just arrived. I know, you can't see the game name or artwork but this is the only way I can show the photos till the press release is released ... but that should be by next week. Stay close."

Here is the challenge, what do you see in the design, might need a few drinks or a de-swirling program.

You see the a fraction of the second cabinet between the 2 guys but nothing to gauge whats going on except - red's and blacks.

Can anyone confirm if that is John Borg - guy with the bandaged hand?

I should know the designers but couldn't find a recent photo to compare - reason for asking is Gomez is in it so wondering if maybe it's going to be a different pinball release ?????

a guy in the know on pin side made this short statement today

"This wont help because as of today at 2:43 cst The backglass and Decals where not in the building."

but more interesting posted a image ???? maybe suggesting the type of art to expect - is sort of related to the cabinet art in the post prior with red's and blacks.

Photoshop>Filter>Liquify will fix it if you have some patience

or as you suggested swinks,

Pinhead>Bundy Rum>Liquify will probably have the same effect.  :lol
