Custom Bally Pins 1978 - 1982

Looking to form a build group for making a few custom pins. I can get new playfields made (huge cnc table at the sign shop I use), print playfields (my printer has been doing this for years with me), glass (been testing for years), & cabinet art. What i'm not skilled at is doing cad drawings for cnc work for cabinet & playfield. Can't do any art, or programming using Pinball Controller stuff.

What I want to do is use old wiring & playfield parts from old Bally pins. Make custom Sci Fi & other theme pins. So if you are skilled in area's i'm not, we could jointly make some custom pins.

Here are some pictures of playfield restorations that I continue to do. You could actually recycle out the Bally light lenses for use in new playfields. I have to check that the light lenses are secure during restorations, if not they come out & are reglued using epoxy.

I'm interested in this too and can use cad. I have my own cnc so can do test cutting.

I have a skateball to dimension off - would this fit the bill.


John can you explain the print process you use?

What arrangement are thinking of? As I have been wanting to do this as well.

The art for the playfield, backglass, cabinet art, etc. would be modern inkjet printing. I was talking with my printer & the Colorspan 9840uv printer is now about 6 years old. Still does impressive work on playfields & backglasses at 300 dpi or better. Cabinet art would be on a more modern printer at a higher dpi. I have access to 1/2" hard maple plywood with no defects, or the mill in the USA that supplies CPR plywood at 17/32". Like I have said my sign shop that does my Oracal 810 masking purchased a large cnc table for making 3d signs, etc. They are eager to ramp up the cnc for playfield production.

So I'm interested in working with different people around the world to produce custom pins. Can't do it alone, & having a bunch of people with skill sets is the way to go.
