STERN FACTORY AUSTRALIA ?
« on: May 08, 2012, 10:39:28 PM »
A STERN FACTORY in Australia. Sounds like a good idea right ? Yes, I know it will never happen (unless i win tonights 70 million lotto  %.%)

but, IF STERN was to open a factory here in the land of OZ, who would want to quit your current job and want to go and work there ?  !@# !@#
(imagining pay was fine).

COULD U SEE yourself working in a pinball production factory, and if so, would it be Stern, or JJP ? choices choices choices.(I would and I would go for STERN cause I like the 4 titles per year  !)

What about you guys ?  !@# !@# !@# !@# !@#

JJP would be my pick, big call considering they haven't released one pinball yet but based on Jack's Principles / Values and looking after the customer - JJP for me.

Also if you got more people, could mean more pins released in a year.

Maybe change the heading to Stern or JJP Factory as you do give the option in your post.....

Stern had a factory in Newcastle in the late 70's / early 80's. They produced Meteor, Galaxy, Hot Hand and Cosmic Princess under the Leisure and Allied Business name. Cosmic Princes was a kit, so I'm not sure if it was a fully equipt factory.

No way, building pinball machines would be a boring job
Each person would have an asigned task, 'Your job is to drill 6 holes and screw in 6 posts, then move to the next game'

you call that job satiisfaction?, cause I don't

Working on a production line sucks, I have been there and done that....Yuk!
Mind numbing of the highest order in the boring department.
And what happens when it eventually goes broke like holden etc...does the fed govt come in and bail it out too...that was a joke.

Can't imagine that Australia could support a "factory" - aside from the AC/DC anomaly, what's Stern's average Australian sales a year? A hundred, two hundred?

A couple of things. (remembering it was a excercise of imagination, not a real factory opening up ofcourse)

If I was to work at a pinball production factory, I would want to be able to learn all the different jobs so it would be more fun. Therefore, u could move around the place.
The second thing would be that you could build your own machines, which would be extra fun when playing them know ing u built them with your friends.
The third thing is that you dont have to just get stuck on the production line, you could move into game designing, sales, mechanical engineering, logistics etc. It takes alot of talented people to run a pinball factory. You could be the next Steve Ritchie ! or Gary Stern.

You could choose any job you wanted in my Australian pinball factory scenario, making it more interesting.  *%* *%* *%*

I would drive one of those Corvettes he now sells and see how fast I could make one go down the freeway. Leaving him with the red light and speeding tickets.lol

If I had a pinball factory in Australia, a Bathurst V8 pinny would be the first title down the production line.  *%*
