Interesting method to remove the mylar glue for sure  *%*  Might have to give it a try some time   :D

I usually use Prepsol (wax & grease remover) and rags to remove the glue, it usually varies just how well this works, the BOP pin im doing at the moment, the mylar glue came up really easily.

Tried this tonight on the funhouse I just removed the Mylar as well tonight. I haven't really tried other methods to remove the glue except for on a T2 with diamond plating and it wasn't real easy with a rag and Shellie.

This method seemed quicker and less labour intensive. Basically a put flour on let it sit for a moment and then rubbed it in until it became a little sandy, a quick drizzle of white spirits and rub it lightly in, followed by a sprinkle of flour and the rub until doughy glue comes off. Sprinkle a bit more to get any left over residue.

The great thing about the flour is that it highlights the glue, even the small bits you normally miss. I give it a thumbs up but interested to hear from others that have done playfield restores involving Mylar removal.

By the way, I had no paint loss except around the scoop, pop bumpers and step ramp drop zone where previous touch ups were made. I was amazed with the result and will document how I did this if interested.  I forgot, I lost about 1.5mm of the corner of the 250k insert decal. Was spewing but happy that this was the worst thing that happened when removing factory mylar

Completed the glue removal and it took about 2 hours to do the job. I'll take you through the steps I took with great results.

Step 1 - sprinkle some flour over the area and spread itwith your fingers to highlight the glue
Step 2 - I put a little Alcohol and rub lightly to wet the flour and start the process going. It feels really gritty but I found it enables the alcohol to soften the glue and the flour to bind to it
Step 3 - I sprinkle a little more flour on and start rubbing. The glue will form balls with the flour and come off the playfield. The playfield will start the feel smoother
Step 4 - I sprinkle more flour on to see if there is anything I missed and if so rub that area to remove it. The flayfield should start to feel light rubbing glass
Last photo is the glue totally gone from Rudy's face

Pro's
1. easy to do and not too labour intensive
2. By using your fingers you can feel whether the glue is being removed.
3. No rags required and clean up is using a vac. The glue isn't sticky
4. no sticky rags and hands
5. no playfield damage
6. Fairly quick process
7. The flour highlights the glue so you can see any missed spots right down to the finest details/specs

Con's
I couldn't find anything obvious
