price check on RFM conversion kit
« on: March 05, 2009, 11:04:57 PM »
I have the opportunity to buy a refurbished Revenge from Mars playfield, software roms, translite and auto fire for around $2000.

Would like it to go with the SWEP1 but unsure whether the price is a bit much or not. So I'd like some opinions on the price more so than game itself. But am interested in thoughts concerning buying the pseudo kit compared with say the complete machine.

Thanks

Wow...$2k is a bit.  I would have thought they would be cheaper than that....

Are the cabs ever available on their own??

I think the RFM kits are from parted out machines, but to give you an idea of a NOS SWEP1 kit, Wayne has got one for about $1980 which includes cabinet decals. That's why I'm unsure and I reckon for an extra $1k you can get the whole rfm machine, again the dilema (but space restrictions could come into it for me)

I actually played a RFM today ! - Greensy bowls...The lovely didn't like it too much, but was OK...- IF the OP is on here - you've got a post coming loose top of playfield - screw about to fall out! (no card on machine to ring)...also the Monster Bash next door would not take my money!  Oh well...

Back on topic - I think for an extra grand I would get the full machine...My understanding is once you swap decals, thats it they are done?

That's what we should do is start a thread for all the operators, reporting on all the problems their machines have so they could possibly fix them.....but does anyone really think they'd bother doing that??? But it might be a bit of a laugh to hear what crap states some machines are in for an op to possibly think someone would consider playing their machine

Thanks Mark, only 2 responses but the early mail is saying $2K is too much. Maybe after my little renno exercise at home I might pop in and see if you still have one in stock

Hey, the MB took my money when I was there last.

Someone did put their hand up as the owner on these, can't remember who.

I actually thought it was Dracer from AA....If it is his site, he has got enough on his hands at the moment....I would happily go down there, fix the post, clean both, fix coin mechs for him no probs...But I don't know it was confirm his or just jokes?

if its the site I am thinking off and it has been mentioned on AA before  the guy that owns them is Damien ,
he is here every couple of days so i will confirm that he hasnt sold them off

I think he might even be a member here too.

I am sure you can get a FULL RFM for around low 3s    nowadays

He certainly claimed to own them back in October last year. However, his name is Brad. You could always PM him to see?
