Yep i agree-  the networking option has awesome potential.

Imagine a head to head game with your mate across the other side of the world with his game being displayed on the LCD - or at least his targets he has hit/challenges he has completed.

Then bring in a mode where once he makes the shot, a drop target pops up to block that exact shot on your machine, therefore twice as hard for you to complete, then you have to quickly try and nail other shots so his drops pop up to block certain shots.

Then for the final or multiball, as he gets shots, add balls and/or subtract balls from your machine

Or weaken flipper power for a period so you can't make long shots

Or even just have some mildly abusive taunts/sound effects when you are getting beaten.

Should be dead simple and cheap to implement, just standard bits (wi-fi card, drop tagets, coils) with some programming required

I would love to see a networked 'challenge mode'.

Unlimited balls, first to hit the left orbit gets a point, first to hit the right ramp, first to hit a target a certain amount of times, first to start multiball, first to a certain score.......you get the idea.

You could play against anyone or more importantly someone you know. I would prefer to see networks used for challenges rather than just high scores.

Sorry if this isn't really an innovation.  !@)

I agree, this comes down to idea of different rule set available and pinball having more than set of rules you can choose for different types of game play, IMO people would pay for new rules and use of servers for online gaming, it's potentially another money maker and good for company cash flow between titles, it may not be the case of who gets the highest scores with 3 balls, it could be who can hit which ramp the fastest, which can help with your skills on the game

^^^ great ideas mate, this would work with the AREA 51 machine, one player could be the alien or spy and the other could be the soldiers, drops can block the orbits or ramps or a vuk which could simulate going up or down a level in the underground facility, or on the Predator style of game one person could be the alien and the others the soldiers - could be very cool - come on JJP we know you are a member here, have a read.

stern does a ticket dispenser but sadly it looks like it would be bolted to the side of the cabinet.

It would be better if it bolted underneath through the base and to reload, turn a key and a drawer mechanism slid out.

Has stern been reading our threads? Lol, I guess this is rushed idea because the position on the cab doesnt look thought out, did they come up with this idea the night before they released it?
