Finally! EBD sold
« on: March 11, 2009, 06:20:32 PM »
Someone has finally bid on this machine http://cgi.ebay.com.au/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT&item=110359344452 which has bad playfield wear and possible bonus multiplier target issues. I think it started out at double this price and has been on eBay for weeks.

Still reckon the buyer may have paid too much given the condition.

So $780 plus freight would give you change out of $1000, wouldn't it? How much do you reckon cabinet decals would be?

The link you gave me pointed to seconds (they have imperfections), which obviously makes them a bit cheaper but I guess the perfect ones are all sold.

I also found a playfield 'overlay' - are these any good http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=150330706414&ih=005&category=13727&ssPageName=mem_guide:3&rd=1?

Personally, I'm not a fan of overlays. I'd rather get a repro playfield.

The IPB repros can have issues, but given the production process it's not unexpected. I have a FH repro playfield that is just beautiful except for one tiny spot where the registration is a tiny bit out - but short of a full restore (time consuming and expensive if done professionally), you can't do better.

In that shipment Mark and I organised I got a BBB playfield - one of the last two and the only one Gene was prepared to sell. It would possibly be a second (they chose the best for the production games) but if so I can't pick it.

I imagine the 8BD seconds will be pretty nice - maybe Mark can get a comment from the fellow who ordered one (I forget who it was).

Where do you reckon you would start looking for cabinet decals?
