IJ Prototype
« on: March 11, 2009, 06:40:14 PM »
Does anyone know much about the early IJ prototype?

Is it more collectable and worth more?

Might have access to one so just curious to get opinions

Thanks

Sorry Geoff, it's a PoS and worth hardly anything at all. I'll pop over with a grand or so (yes, I know I'm being generous but you are a nice guy) and take it off your hands.

You'll  thank me later!

Differences:

Confirmed -
Prototype has the 'Sunset' aka 'Lost' plastic, and to go with it, 3 additional lights that sit behind the plastic.
Prototype has stainless steel rails/sidebars for the Path of Adventure.

Unconfirmed -
Prototype has no insignia on wings of German plane.
Prototype cabinet does not have Extra Ball button.
Prototype has extra lighting for the arks.
Prototype has different playfield art.

Value - it should have all the same features as the normal game (as well as those mentioned above), plus the rarity factor, so this should make it worth more than the standard IJ, probably $1K to $2K more.

But I don't really know what I am talking about - only been around for six months.

And don't listen to pinnies4me...

For some one thats been around for only "six months" you seem to do your homework and are quite knowledgeable.

Thanks for the info..... *%*

Prototype machines had red boards under the playfield to distinguish them from production run machines.

boys did it...i am useless at that stuff

And someone else did the revamp with globes, rubbers etc

I work 12 hrs a day at other business so no reall time at the moment.

I am just doing the finishing touches

I will probably try to put a sound kit upgrade in myself though

Should come together very nicely Geoff.

Is this going straight to the 'pool room' or are you planning on putting it in your DVD shop?  I really miss seeing pins out and about at places.  I remember playing them at a couple of video shops (thats how long ago it was) in Kilsyth when I was a lot younger!...
