I am looking to swap my Cactus Jacks' for a similar value machine. This is a system 3 Gottlieb/Premier Technology solid state machine featuring a 2 ball multiball. The basic idea of the game is to throw fruit at the band during multiball by hitting targets and ramps. The fruit value is increased by completing drop targets. Multipliers are achieved through rollover lanes at the top. Extra ball is achieved by hitting ramps and stays at the current letter between players. There are also a couple of other ways of scoring big points. Also has a post underneath the flippers which allows the ball to be bumped back into play from the left-hand outlane. All in all, a fun machine - but having already scored a high score of 99 million and also going past that mark, I have decided that a change is as good as a holiday.
The good - everything is working fine apart from a couple of things mentioned below. Overall condition is pretty good - this is unrestored but in tidy condition.
The bad - 1. Right hand flipper mech and coil need replacing. 2. Sometimes the vertical upkicker towards the top of the playfield doesn't kick out cleanly and may fire two or three times - it was like that when I got it but I never bothered looking at it as it has minimal effect on gameplay.
My guess is that this is worth around $1500 or so. Looking to swap for another solid state machine of that value. I prefer family-friendly themes as my kids play the machines. I am willing to pay a $50 difference because of the flipper mech and coil, or if you aren't handy I can fix that before any swap. Looking for a local swap (Melbourne and surrounds) and note that I can provide transport.
