The Best 1968 Pinball

Hi Guys , need your advice and opinions of the best 1968 pinball machine .
Since I was born in 1968 I thought it would be cool to buy the best of the year ( so to speak ) .

Gday Tony .

I have a Williams '68 pinnie called Lady Luck . Its a 2 player game but is cleverly designed for a multiplayer EM because the theme is Blackjack . Each ball you are trying to beat the dealer . The dealers card score is revealed at the end of each ball . Unfortunately the plastics and artwork on the cab don't go with the theme but the backglass and playfield art do.

Its tricky to play because on the one hand you are trying to get the highest score (same as any game) but you are also trying not to bust (the hard part) .

Its one of only 4 pins ever designed with a Blackjack theme, far as I know.

A friend of mine gave me the same idea, get a pin that is the same age as you
but '66 is either hot or crap
the only games worth getting are on the 'very collectable' lists
but there are a few games from '65 that I could easily buy (When they come up (Teachers Pet))

I did buy one from '64 (Williams heat wave) kinda cool, and darn rare, havent found anyone who currently owns one

Hey Tony, It was a great year to be born. [same as me]. Cant offer any advice on 68 pins but I love your idea. I did the same thing with cars. I have a 68 XR Falcon ute and a 68 XT Fairmont sedan. You should find a good game from 68 if you are patient. Good luck.

But if you want the best game from 68 then i would recommend  a Bally game... zipper flippers are just about one of the coolest features to ever be introduced to pinball and i think 68 was just about the heyday for these.

I would almost recommend a WMS HAYBURNERS2 ... zipper flippers and great backglass animation, however, previous promises to myself prevent me from recommending a game that has NO bumpers!

I don't think 1968 was a great year for pinball - but if I had to own one game from this year, it would be Hayburners II

The only one I vaguely remember playing in the late 60s was Gottlieb Dominos when I was about 10. The centre drain felt like the Grand Canyon with those tiny flippers and my mates and I learned good play on the Gottliebs of the era.  Good luck in your search for a good '68 machine.

Just learnt something ! ( which I'll forget in 2 days )

note all the Bally's from this list are missing. Very strange ratings, as none of these games are half as fun as Dogies, Gator or Joker. Seriously, Ding Dong is one of the most boring titles of all time. Doozie is the pick of the bunch, but still no where near Dogies or Hayburners II.

Never seen or played the games you are talking about Nino (I don't get out much  ) but gotta agree Zipper Flippers are great fun and one day I am going to get a game that has them .
