Wotto, maybe unsolder the coil and take the whole assembly out. put it in a vice, position they way you wish and then all you have to worry about is getting the nut/screw out !

No further damage to any other parts and as much leverage as you wish...

Trouble is - the flipper is in place so I cant get the assembly out anyway
