well it's been a few hectic weeks at work where i've barely even looked at the pinny, but now that things are starting to wind down a big i can get back into to it

since last i posted i've replaced just about all the #44 globes with #47 and now have every light on the playfield and backbox working a treat  ^^^

I've replaced all the crappy old rubbers as well and successfully troubleshot another mis-aligned switch in the game over relay
I've got the hang of reading the schematics now too, which makes life a LOT easier when trying to diagnose problems

now that things are 99% working it's time to fix the last little niggle before i make a decision on what to do about the paint on the cabinet...
the little pin that holds the plunger to the slingshot shooter thing is broken on one of the slingshots (blue arrow on this pic from pinrepair)
is there somewhere local that I could get a replacement pin? bunnings maybe? if so what exactly am i looking for?

one more question, while we're on the topic of fixing up EM pinnies,
after doing a fair bit of reading on pinrepair, i came across the suggestion to set the power supply to "high tap" to give the flippers and slingshots more oomph, what do you boys think of this? anyone done it? how was the result?
it sounds like a good idea in theory, but I'd hate to mess things up just when I've got it all working nicely  &^&
