Terms to describe a pinball's condition
« on: August 22, 2010, 08:38:23 PM »
I hear of these terms all the time but never really got a firm explaination of them.

1. Reconditioned
2. Restored
3. Repaint & restored

These 3 main terms do have a major bearing on a pinball's asking price.

Still loving my Metallica Premium

Great question, it would help to have some clarity!

The ones I can afford tend to be described as:

Project.

Parts only.

Needing a tidy up.

Just needs a fuse...

Slight playfield wear... (remember the Rancho on ebay?)

Why is it called PMS?
Because "Mad Cow Disease" was already taken...

and the greatest one of all, "fully shopped"
one mans shopped is all lamps, rubbers, flipper kits, every thing working, cleaned & polished and another mans shopped is wiped over with a cloth. :lol

I have attached some pics of a shopped fire. It has all new rubbers, lamps & flipper kits, playfield has been cleaned + every thing works.
it just shows how buying a shopped pin doesn't mean its in great condition.  %.%
