Kasco Gunsmoke - Price Check
« on: February 04, 2013, 09:02:00 PM »
Hey Guys

I have come across a Kasco Gunsmoke and I have got no idea what they are worth.
It was going 20 years ago when it was put in storage but I am unsure if it's working now.
Cabinet looks ok.

Any ideas?

Great game.  I remember playing it as a kid.

I wonder if the hologram in this game is also affected by time?

Found a thread on the web where a guy in the States was selling some of his old duplicates. Here is the bit regarding Gunsmoke.

(14) 1976 Kasco Gunsmoke (EM arcade) -- Single player EM gun game.Rare machine that features a hologram cowboy.  Gameplay is similar toMidway Top Gun of same era.  Formica cabinet that is in near perfectcondition.  Overall game is in fantastic original condition. $1200.
All games are located in Malvern, PA USA (near Philadelphia).

If you don't remember the 70s then you were on drugs.
If you remember playing pinball in the 70s you were having a good time.
If you don't remember anything,  then read about it here,

Hi Boots,

Last couple of these I think sold for $600 and $1200.  As Steevsee mentioned the hologram does fade. I had a Gunsmoke I was repairing for another collector and the hologram was faded but still good enough to play the game. It is one of the central parts of the game so if this is damaged the game would be worth next to nothing. I know of 2 holograms which were damaged due to cleaning. If you use water or any other liquid the hologram will just rub off the drum. Most of the other repairs involved, cleaning steppers, rewinding a coil, replacing few relays, etc. Game is designed for easy access to the major assemblies. Great EM game to play once it is all working. I have some notes and photos of the one I worked on if you need a hand.

regards Derek

Thanks Derek, that pretty well confirms what I was thinking.
Good to know about the hologram I could have got caught with that.
The bloke thinks its worth $1500-$2000 and I thought that was a bit steep straight off the farm.
