GOTTLIEB FAR OUT REBUILD

Here i another rebuild for you all to enjoy. Again thanks to mark for this machine.  As per usual another win on ebay and im off to marks to pick up a new machine or 5.   Again already had a home for this machine aswell this one went to my glass guy he asked what all the glass i was getting him to cut was for and when he found out it was pinball glass he placed an order.   Machine was in decent condition when it arrived but had a shocking Mylar over it. Ive lost more pics sadly so none of the playfield before it was stripped down but you will get the idea.
   After cleaning and adjusting all the contacts and replacing burnt out coils and wires From memory this machine actually caught fire lol.  (Id seen smoke but never actual Flames)

This is the playfield with a quick wipe as you can see the mylar is terrible but an operator would love it as almost every shot the ripple in the mylar would send it straight down the middle

This was my first ever attempt at a Mylar Removal and was i nervous.

In the first photo you can see the mylar has all been removed and the left half has been cleaned of the glue and stuff the right side hasnt
 
The rest just show the rest without mylar or glue

Sorry guys ive lost a heap of these pics and what i have are jumbled to the max im assuming these pics are when i polished it the novus gives it away.
  
 Also the before and after pics of the plastics.  By the way i have scanned almost all the plastics from the pinnies ive rebuild in case anyone ever needs to make up a replacement. Not as good as an original i know but better than broken or missing

Yeah Mate ive done a few still have a few more to show you and a few more to restore.  I have the attention span of a 5 year old with A.D.D but i can spend hours polishing one screw head on a pinball machine Go figure

Wonder what Gordon Morison was on when he painted that backglass? Very very impressive art - my fave from the 1970s

Yeah it sure is a trippy backglass.  Was a great machine to do up and its new owner loves it sadly i do a good job when i rebuild them they rarely break down so i dont get to play them very often. Every so often ill send em a message saying im in the area and ill call in to check them over (Have a game) They think its great after sales service i think its a great excuse for a game
