Bally buffer wire
« on: February 18, 2013, 07:26:54 PM »
Hi, I'm after 2 x Bally buffer wires (these are the wires in the playfield directly below the flippers) for my Flash Gordon. Mine have long since disappeared. Part number is M-121-53 and was common on Bally games of the era.
If anyone has any spare from an old stripped playfield or if you know where I can purchase please let me know. Thanks.

Thanks, there a fairly non-descript type of thing aren't they. I never new what there they were called until I needed some. Bally 1980-1 parts catalog calls them a buffer wire but there's probably lots of different manufacture names. Your "Anti-bounce" is probably more descriptive though.

"What you will see are the anti-biff bars behind each flipper to prevent bounce backs or death saves. Some Stern games have them and some don't. Ripley's didn't but Lord Of The Rings did."

Yep, that's them! I have a new playfield which has the holes for them already but the current playfield is missing them, though it must have had them at some stage because the holes are still there.

Just pop down to your local welding supply store and buy some stainless TIG filler wire rods the same size and bend to length

Daniel's always good like that. Generally if you need something he's probably got it. Hey Daniel you wouldn't by chance have spares for a Paragon machine lying around that you could post to me? I seem to be short a few bits, like the whole machine  && I'm sure I spotted one somewhere at your place.
