Big Blue capacitor.
« on: March 15, 2013, 02:00:25 PM »
Anyone know of a local source for this capacitor or a suitable replacement?

Its 30 000uf 25volts.

Used in sega and DE and I think WMS as well.

Marco has them for nearly $50 a pop plus postage! !@#

Hoping to find something closer(and cheaper).

I was fearing I'd need one of these for the Batman Forever in my workshop at the moment....

You still might! %.%

I actually realised that mine was faulty while measuring for you.  So it helps us both. ^^^

Let us know how you go with the new readings.

After a LOT of legwork today one of my contacts has tracked a suitable replacement down (or so he has told me). I won't get to see them until Monday now.

I will probably grab some if they are suitable BUT the issue then will be postage. It will be half the price to post to Australia than it will if I import them in the container this month and then $12 with Australia Post for postage - that kills any sort of deal.

After confirming they are suitable I will get pricing and probably post them direct from my Hong Kong office to anyone who wants one or two. That saves inporting costs, duty and GST as well as being half the postage cost from Hong Kong - ridiculous but true!

More info Monday.
