No GI on my Space Invaders
« on: March 18, 2013, 05:31:14 AM »
As the  title says, I've suddenly lost the GI on my Space Invaders. I've checked the  fuses on the -rottendog- rectifier and they are all fine. Apart from the fuses on that board, I cant seen to find any others on the machine so I guess there's a fault somewhere. All the feature lamps are fine and everything else works ok. I'm wondering if the rectifier board is giving too much out? I checked the voltages on the test points and they are all about 10% higher than the voltage values are stated on the test points. But that would give me GI, surely?

Any ideas as to where to start looking please?

Many thanks, Doug.

Have you removed the fuses to test them ? I've seen dozens of fuses measure correctly, only to find them open when removed from the board.

IS GI missing from the headbox and playfield ?

Yes, I've taken them out, one by one and tested them and all are ok [I know what you mean about false readings  #@#]
I have GI on the head unit, its just the playfield that has died for some reason.. Machine plays fine, apart from this.
