1972 Williams Swinger EM Restoration
« on: April 06, 2013, 08:01:13 PM »
2 years ago we picked up this machine with 2 playfields, cabinet and a terrible Backglass.
We got it working at first but got to the stage where we decided to restore it.
The working playfield was not entirely salvageable, the paint would peel of completely with the mylar as if it were an overlay.
We stripped down the spare playfield for restoring.

Began the mylar removal on the second playfield and revealed some interesting colours.  :D

It's currently masked up ready for pink... The masking is the most vital part even if you have airbrush skills, because of the style of the machine it needs to be kept with a clean cartoon look with no overspray.
Masking one colour can take a whole day!
I have used printing paper and masking tape

That's a tough playfield to restore, but I like the progress that is already done !
