which flipper eos to use and how
« on: July 14, 2013, 11:31:50 PM »
photo 1 is the switch I bought from rtbb and want to use 4 lugs
photo 2 is what I got in the rebuild kit from pbr 2 lugs
photo 3 is the lower flippers I want to use the switch on and it has 4 wires connected to it
photo 4 is the smaller upper flipper that has a very similar switch as purchased by rtbb but it has a diode and a couple of extra wires to a lug my new switch doesn't have.

I am guessing I can use my new switch as a replacement for those in photo 3 but would like confirmation. The current switch is slightly smaller in components used but looks the same in principle.  If I need to use the 2 lug switch how do I connect the four wires?

The application is for my Space Invaders Pinball

Hey Rob

As long as the flippers Activate the switches and there wired the same way you should be fine

Rob, these look the same as the eos switches on my FG. I recently replaced them as well. I can take a picture of my upper and lower flipper eos switches in the morning if it helps.

Thanks mate that would be majorly appreciated. I'm working on my SI to pass the time away and keep my mind off my problems. Thank you very much

Just looking through the pics on my iPad and I'd taken this one before changing them over.

If this is what your looking for I'll take another pic of it installed in the morning.

there are 2 solder tabs missing compared to the photo on the suppliers web site. are the tabs in the packaging it came in?

ask for an exchange or you will have to separate the contacts and a solder tab (cut the old ones off so they look like the attached photo and add it to the leaf with the missing solder tab)
just send Greg from RTBB an email with a photo of the problem, I'm sure he will sort something out for you.  ^^^

sorry Beaky unsure what you are saying. The rtbb ones have 4 tabs. Or are saying that the switch needs a total of 6 tabs? the pbr switch is the old style with only 2 tabs.

ignore my last post, going by the photo you posted it looked like the contact set in photo1 only had 3 tabs so my mistake @.@  !@)

best thing to do is keep the one in picture 2 as a spare and buy another contact set like the one in picture 1

so don't use this one

and buy another one of these for each side

Here's mine installed.

And the corresponding top flipper

I plan on swapping this one over for a new one though.

looks great with all the new gear
you will still need to have 2 lots of 2 contacts, space invaders uses the contacts with the diode to register when you press the flippers to trigger a sound effect.
