Sticking Flipper Buttons
« on: July 20, 2013, 04:42:27 PM »
Hi Guys
This is probably just a real simple one (new flipper buttons) but maybe I'm missing something? ACDC just over a year old brought second hand. Right flipper button sticking in on and off since day one but slowly getting worse. Tried tightening and loosening the screw and washer on the inside of the cabinet that clamps down on the edge of the button. Tried removing the screw and washer all together. Tried taking the flipper button out all together then putting it back in and tightening the nut that holds it in to different tensions. Every time I fiddle with it it seems to improve a little then before long back to normal. Today the left flipper button started doing the same thing.. very frustrating when your in the middle of a ball and the flipper sticks.
Any tips appreciated.
Thanks
Tim

are they custom ones with a chrome silver or gold finish, as had it happen on my IM (which has gold plated buttons) so maybe the extra thickness reduces the clearance, but it also appears to be when you are pushing the button on a slight angle

2 options:
new set of buttons
or
spray a little bit of silicon spray inside the button but be careful not to get anywhere else.

Standard flipper buttons but I agree it seems to be when you push them on a slight angle I know exactly what you mean there. Will take them out and give them a spray and see what happens...thanks for the tip.
