Bally Carnival Queen Bingo
« on: July 24, 2013, 12:05:30 AM »
Thought I would post this for anyone interested in Bingo's.
Finally got a bingo yesterday - 1958 Bally Carnival Queen.
First obstacle was getting home - The cabinet arrived in another vehicle.
I transported the Monster Head in my Mirage - Here is some picts of me getting it into my garage.

Being a 1950's machine, my aim is to keep it as original as possible.
Will be mainly cleaning up the playfield and cabinet and getting it running.

First job is to remove all the metal siderails (The original woodrails are underneath)
As well as the metal armour on the rest of the cabinet.

Any tips on restoring the woodrails etc would be appreciated.
Do you just rub them back and varnish  !@#

Congrats on the purchase  ^^^

As mentioned, remove the metal siderails and panels. All my Father's old machines had this awful armor ! There should be original paint work and wooden siderails. Did you get original wooden legs ?

Did you get any documentation with the game ? I have some here, but not complete. You might need to watch Richard Gerlitz's Videos ;

Time to remove the metal armour.

Wooden side rails exposed and are in good condition (No cig burn marks).
Metal cigarette holders missing - Anyone have any laying around ?

Interesting the amount of coins that were fed into these machines. This machine has an extra large coin box attached beneath the cabinet.
Found the key but no surprises in the coin box.

Kev - I have the cigarette holders in storage. I'll grab one next time I'm down there.

Keep the updates coming and if you need anything, let me know. Ironically, I will be picking up the leftover Bingos in another storage building later this year.
