e-go transport help advice
« on: September 30, 2013, 10:08:37 PM »
Hi guys, just bought a playfield on ebay and the guy is nice enough to deliver it to one of their depots. I have never used these guys. Does anyone know what it takes to organize the delivery. Do I just tell him to take it there or do I need to send him anything to put on the parcel etc? any advice would be great.

no phone number and kinda doesn't explain depot to door procedure if you're the receiver and initiator of the delivery. Maybe I have missed that section.

also are these guys pretty good and as careful as expected?

wrap it PROPERLY - go online and fill out the forms - pay the money - drop it to the depot with the paperwork attached (that you print) - wait 2? days - receiver will get a TXT and email advising ready to collect at depot -receiver collects - all good

Get yourself a $100 platinum membership, you get $250 worth of insurance with every consignment
Once you get a membership just login and follow the steps to book it
With insurance you never have trouble, without its pot luck
Always go depot to depot if you can at least you don't have to wait around for a driver

hey boots thanks for the tip, the $100 platinum, is it like prepaying about $100 worth of freight and you just keep topping up?

Yep you link it to your paypal and when the balance reaches $10 it automatically tops ups with another $100
You also get $2.50 bonus payment to your balance from e-go with every $100 top up.

Don't skimp on weight or measurements, allow for packing etc and as others have said depot to depot, a lot less handling and half the price of door to door

If you go depot to depot a pallet is ok as they have fork trucks at the depot, but if you have to go door to door that will try to make you pay extra for a lift truck.

I have sent a playfield through these guys recently. Make sure you select the insurance option and attached the "fragile" sticker they send you with the payment receipt. I bubble wrapped the field with three layers and then wrapped it in cardboard. Mine took a while to deliver in which time the tracking number disappeared off the system. On emailing them they replied saying the tracking number is automatically deleted after 10 days but they still had the item on their system. Other than that I had no problems with them.
