Who are CPR playfields posted through?
« on: February 19, 2014, 08:07:48 AM »
I have an opportunity to get a playfield not through CPR but somewhere else and the provider said they can send it but Australia post may reject the playfield box size.

I thought about CPR and they ship playfields etc and it sounds like there are no issues.

So are CPR playfields delivered to your door via Aus Post? if not who?

any quick help would be much appreciated as they are waiting on me to send if all good.

Also how does tax work on a playfield coming into Aus?

The Australian end is not Aus Post, not sure of the name of the company as they local delivery van is unmarked
Playfields are too big for Aus Post to handle

CPR uses UPS, but they get a volume discount price

If you order direct from CPR, the UPS van turns up at your door 5-7 working days later. If you track the item, you will see the paperwork is cleared before the package arrives. There are no hidden costs. Just keep the cost under AUS$1000 inc shipping and there's nothing to worry about. I ordered a backglass on Sunday. This will be my 5th or 6th glass. Never had a problem !

Its an amazing service isn't it?... Buy from USA and they send UPS.. you can track it online right to your door.. in fact it will tell you that the parcel is in transit from your depot, so you know its in the van about to be delivered.
Recently, AusPost removed ALL tracking on overseas items.. it was always a bit crap in that it only went to the edge of these shores, but now they offer...nothing making it impossible to send OS and KNOW of its delivery without using DHL or similar..

..We are offered such a lesser service

cheers guys.

I spoke to Auspost and he said if you wanted to send something that size it would not be allowed but if the company OS sends it and their post office accepts it then Auspost will not reject it ( nervous fingers crossed)

It's not from CPR but from a another pinball company and pf is $650 with $140 postage. I will let the cat out of the bag once it is on it's way.

So Swinks, let me get this straight: your guy in the US is going to use USPS to send the playfield?

Will be interested to see how this goes for future reference.

Nope.. I sent a set of stencils not long back to USA.. cost was about $68 registered with tracking. I posted it and sent the tracking number to the customer so they could see it got on the plane ( best I can do!).. they emailed me asking why the number didn't work.. it seems that just after I posted the item, Aus Post removed the tracking option and so it became just regular post!
Service no longer available, so if sending OS you better hope your customer is honest because if paid with Paypal in particular, you have absolutely NO way of proving it got there and PP then freeze your account and take your money..

.. good luck with that..
