Black Knight return Lane Plastics
« on: August 10, 2014, 03:04:04 PM »
My Black Knight is down again after C.P.U. failure, so I had to send the boards away for repair.  !!!
While the game is down I thought of doing sum mods.

I had a set of return lane plastics that I once had on the game but took them of as I didn't like the feel of the ball rolling over the plastic glides alone.
So I put the plastics on top of the Stainless Steel lane glides.
Had to file the edge closest to the flippers as it was catching when the flipper is energized..

I think it looks ok  !@#  or should I put it back to just plain stainless steel glides ? ::)

And I found a nice new apron card (right)

I think these are supposed to be offset with standoffs and longer screws, not just place on top of the metal pieces.

That is how I fitted mine

Interesting !@#  oh well I might just see how it plays for the moment and set them up as standoffs later.

Stick with the metal ones IMO,
To me the plastic ones look upside down  !@#, you have the lower mini bump post, never noticed them fitted before, also both wire rails below the flippers are missing, nice condition playfield  ()

Later runs of the plastic set from CPR had the image reversed so they don't look upside down

Thanks for that, will have a look for them...   ^^^

Got this Black Knight back in 1999.
The lower bumper post was there and the wire rails where missing when I bought it back then.
I left it alone as I didn't want a gaping hole where the post is.

Replaced a lot of broken plastics including the one on the shooting lane that cops it when the playfield is raised.
It still has the original mylar so the playfield is very good.
Got a nice set of drop target decals different to the originals, more like the image on the black glass.

Made this little plastic left over from the broken ones I replaced and put it to the left of the left horse shoe ramp that goes to the top playfield, sort of continues the rail affect that divides both playfield's.

Pinpal.
