Recommended supplier for DMD display (gas, not LED)
« on: November 03, 2014, 06:56:03 PM »
Hi. The DMD on my Shadow has lost its gas and I need a new one. It seems like The Pinball Shed ($250) is the cheapest option. PSPA is $308 and the overseas suppliers are more expensive when shipping is included. Have I got this right? Thx, onetaste.

Send a message to RTBB. Around the $250 sounds about right.

Remember when the Aussie dollar was trading at $1.13 USA. You could buy brand new DMD displays for $180 delivered.
One Aussie seller was doing them for $150 if u bought 3 or more in one hit.
The price now is crazy. But, what can you do ?.....

the irony of this is that some sellers bought up at these prices and seem to hold on to the products UNTIL the $ declines and then scream about the $ "price hike that caused the prices to go up".  (((

I reckon any more than $220 is a rip off.

For a while there, a Qld seller was getting boxes and boxes imported from Chima and they were identical brand and make to the identical ones coming out of the USA.
When u buy from the USA, your paying for the DMD to go from China to the USA and then to Australia.
Cutting the middle man out was the go, but why has the price gone from $150 to $180 all the way up past $250 plus postage...... Too expensive . Colour DMDs make the std ones seem far to expensive at $250 to $280.

Maybe its time for a new thread and a bulk forum order to get the price down...
