Ok I'm in the shed with an Orbit1 playfield in front of me. The pop bumper lamps and all four rollover switches, 2 on the outlanes and the two next to them run off the GI circuit so they should all be on all the time. They all have blue and black wires on them which is for the GI. So stop looking put it back together and have some fun.
You should clean the playfield with some Mr Sheen and get a new ball to avoid excessive playfield wear eventually.
But have fun and when you're sick of it sell it to me.

Thanks for that Trev (and especially for the schematics etc)....I was going to brave the cold and start looking for shorts!

the thing that threw me was that I am sure at one stage (before I re-did all the molex connectors on the PSU) was the bumpers used to flicker in unison with the flippers....so obviously that was a fault which Ive now fixed

Grand total of stuff done (not too bad for my first machine I spose)

All electrolytics changed
Remote Battery added
7406 TTL Inverter changed
LM-380 Audio amp changed
new rubbers and stuff
re-pinned PSU
about 8 lamp driver SCR's changed
two TIP-122 solenoid drivers changed
1 pop bumper coil re-wound by hand (never again!)

In that case its all finished....when I get sick of it I will let you know, I have no particular think for Hankins, it was simply forsale in the area which saved me an 8 hour return trip to Melb or Canberra to buy something else
