Hankin Pinball Schematic
« on: June 14, 2015, 10:11:30 PM »
Hi, long time reader but first time poster. I am restoring my first ever pinball machine, a 1978 Hankin Oribit. I bought this machine not working but in reasonable cosmetic condition. So far I have cleaned it inside, replaced rubber parts, fixed may PCB faults (dead clock crystal, several TIP122 transistors dead, several SCR's dead, 7406 dead, re-done all the power pins and connectors (never again!) and even wound by hand a new pop  bumper coil. Ive managed to get this far without any schematics as I did a lot of design and repair work on this technology in the 1980s but am now stuck.....all lights are working as they should except the outlane lamps and the pop bumper lamps are on all the time, obviously some kind of short but without a schematic Im now stuck, ALL the SCR's on the driver board test good..any ideas or where a I could get a schematic?

Thanks

New Hankin coils (all of them) will be available within a couple of weeks should you need any more. I also have all boards available if you should need them.
Replacement Pinball PCBs that remain faithful to the originals

Thanks for the replys (pm sent) and would love to buy a new set of coils when they are available...no way am I EVER going to hand wind another one!
Had another look today, Im not sure what you call them but the illumination for the red round things on the exit lanes are on all the time and so is the pop-bumper illumination, Im certain that when I got the machine these only flashed on when the flippers were used, Im guessing they are all tied into one line on the matrix, all the SCRS test ok...but trying to work my way back without at least a schematic is a nightmare, Im guessing one of the 74xxx ic's that drive the scr matrix is gone

G'day Trev....no luck at all.......seems that nobody has the schematics...even a place on-line that sells them only has the manual less schematics

Pm me your email address and I'll scan it on Friday for you. I love the artwork on the Orbit1, I can't wait to find one of my own. Do you need the manual too?

By the way. I've uploaded these to the Internet Pinball Database. They say it could take up to two weeks to show.
Cheers Trev.

I feel your pain Signal1. I reassembled the Howzat today and I keep blowing the solenoid fuse on the power supply board and I'm not sure why. It wasn't doing that before i pulled the playfield out? I guess it's time to pull all the coils and check them.
I also have a couple of lights out.

Is the fuse blowing at start up?
Can you hear a coil locking at start up?

Hi Toads. No it plays for a while and then stops. It only goes to 4 beeps on startup until I replace the fuse again. It's the 3A solenoid fuse. There must be something overloading it somewhere? I had a problem with the 5 bank drop target so I replaced the coil and plunger and it worked better?
I have a few non original coils I might check?
