wax advise please

My wife got sucked in at a shopping centre carpark and thought this would be perfect for my games, but I'm reticent to even give it a try. Has anyone been using something like this for some time or what thoughts are there about it, bin it or try it??

Years ago I used to sell a PF cleaning kit on Ebay. In it you got a bottle of cleaner and a bottle of liquid wax plus a buffing cloth and 2 shiny mirror finish balls. From memory, it was $50.
The buffing cloth was a duster from Crazy Clarkes.. mirror balls I got from AMD QLD when the busty blonde hot chick worked there.. the cleaner and wax was a bulk buy of automotive products that I dispensed into smaller bottles.
It worked a treat and I used it on all my machines  from 50's upwards. Never had an issue.
But back to the product at hand... water less means it has some sort of alcohol base.. be it isopropol or methyl etc. This also in spray form evaporates quickly... very quickly!

Personally, I cant see what damage you can possibly do.

Thanks Gav, will see what other say and hopefully make a decision. i have an old pf I could try it on. Its jus whether there are any long term problems that will appear say a year down the track. You gotta love wives that try to help with your hobby though

I've been using this same product for about 18 months with no problems. I got sucked in too!  Once I've finished the four cans i got ( good salesman as I'm sure I only asked for one) I don't think I'll keep using it. Only because of the cost.

Love this stuff, I use it on my motorbike, pinball playfields for a general clean after a good wax has been layed down. It even works great on LCD screens and Laptops, makes a laptop look like new. Seems to last for ages too. A friend gave it to me a few years ago and was reluctant at first but now I swear by it. :)

Spray onto a cloth and not onto the playfield as is froths up and shoots out at a rate of knots and will splatter where you don't want it to go.

Apparently it is exactly the same ingredients as the good ol Mr Sheen.

Depends on if you want to clean the playfield or if you want to maintain the playfield.

This will clean it - but to maintain the finish and lustre as a post cleaning step then a good quality dedicated Carnuba wax is the way to go. I use the liquid form of Mother's brand. Others like the paste variety.

Mother's you should be able to get at Supercheap, I use McGuires..  As for F1 they have a strange marketing practice, you can find it on ebay and gumtree or this link will take you to their website where you can find out where they are selling it from in the coming weeks

Yep Supercheap Auto, Auto 1, Autobahn, Bursons and Repco. Make sure you use a foam applicator pad and remember it's not a polish so just lightly apply it - wait 10 mins and buff off with a terry towel

NP - oh and Carnauba is a natural ingredient so needs reapplying every 5 months - 3 months if you use it on a vehicle.
Can't go wrong.
