The corkscrew came up very nicely - definitely a good advertisement for owning a tumbler.

Did it ever !

Very nice indeed. You are using Brasso, Marty ?

Mark should have some Flitz - He might even start stocking it !

A spash or two only.

If Mark or Greg start stocking the Flitz I'll buy some for sure.

Can one of the other BH owners do me a huge favour and check what coils are on their pop bumpers.

The manual has A-1496 listed for kicking rubbers and pop bumpers and also has A4893 listed for pop bumpers and ball kicker.

There is only 100 turns of wire and guage difference so I'm not sure whether it would matter too much.

Mine has a mixed bag of both so I just want to check.

Big thanks to Dean Morgan for his help too!

A-1496 is standard pop bumper issue on System 80's...

A-4893 can be used and is supposed to give a little more punch... Honestly don't think you'd notice a difference though..

Thanks for that.  Just wanted to make sure!

Bit more work done.

Cabinet is off to spray painters on Monday  #*#.  Not sure how long it will be there, but I'm guessing it can be baked so maybe a week or two?
I finished off the floor today.  Came up OK.
I found an issue where the headbox bolts on.  One side of the brackets sits up above the wood.  Not sure if this is the same on all Sys80 games.  Nothing has been done to it, so may have been a factory boo boo.

I guess the final decision I'll have to make next week is what finish to have the clear done.  I've seen some of HighEnd Resto's with the full auto gloss and they look unreal, but not factory.  So maybe a semi-gloss instead.

It will be for the next couple of weeks.  All metal for upper pf cleaned and polished.  All plastics cleaned.  Upper playfield wiring almost complete.  Just need to finish off pull up resistors and I've ordered some axial caps for the slings as I couldn't find any locally.

Upper pf assembly will start tomorrow and should get almost completed.  Lower playfield metal still to be tumbled.

I'm very excited about it too.  My spraypainter is a perfectionist and its something different for him to work on other than cars!  The stencils look good so it should hopefully come together nicely.  I'll try to get some progress photos on it too.

Good progress, Marty - Should you go down the path of a clear - use a Semi Gloss. Gloss will not look right !

Thanks guys,

AFAIK he will be using full gloss clear in between the different colours/layers.  I was hoping to get the floor done in high gloss and I agree the final coat will be semi.  It would look great, but I agree it being NQR.

Lower pf now stripped.  All parts in nifty soak and tumbler for next 24hrs.

Will be rebuilding flippers and slings, drop targets to not have molex plugs unlike their big brothers upstairs  !*!...

Where the upkicker resides I'll have to sit down and work out a solution.  There is a bit of homebrew wiring with a relay where the playfield transistor is.  This will be removed.  There is a step up resistor there too.

The wiregate on the lower playfield is homemade.  They have done a good job, but I'm trying to get everything done right.  After a recent chat with Greg I've ordered a Gottlieb parts manual too!  I've got a lot of love for these Gottliebs so I think there is a fair chance of another arriving to my gamesroom.

Lower pf had a quick polish with Treasure-Cove kit.  Gave it a nice shine - no wax as yet.

This is going to look fantastic when finished - and I saw how it started so I know how far it has come!
