Guys, keep on fixing and restoring those machines.

I love bumping into these on the web.

If you don't remember the 70s then you were on drugs.
If you remember playing pinball in the 70s you were having a good time.
If you don't remember anything,  then read about it here,

What a great little doco. Cheers.
If it isn't broke, it isn't pinball.

That was awesome. It is true, we live in a throwaway society, and replacing old parts with new is sometimes more economical that repairing them. Most of us older guys enjoy the challenge of repairing old parts. The other point is that while new machines are being built, they will need to be repaired sometime in the future.

I often wonder if the new machines will be repairable or thrown away?   With the money people spend I’m sure they will want them repairs but highly unlikely they will be serviceable in 20 years time

As long as the manufacturers make tons of parts to back up sales of their games, then they will be repairable. Service technicians, on the other hand, are a dying breed. The biggest issue for me is the boutique manufacturers that might not last long. Then you would be stuck with a lemon !
