Picked this beauty up from Sale along with lots of other old classics it sat unloved in Doug’s factory for ages while I made room for it. Here it is in his drive way warehouse raid fresh.
The circuit board had components ratted. We plugged it in didn’t get any smoke which is always a bonus can’t remember what actually work was just excite for no smoke
Sat there for ages got it home several months ago but again got pushed into the corner. I repaired the damaged base and added some wheels and gave it a quick wipe down that’s as far as it got.
Today I couldn’t be stuffed working on Cops and robbers so decided to drag out Daytona
Today I replaced the missing components replaced a few crappy fuse holders and done some checks and fired it up and bugger the scenery drum still didn’t rotate ended up just being an adjustment of a potentiometer hahaha
Now that it’s all up and running the next step is to replicate the projection films as the drivers car is completely stuffed and another is well worn aswell.
Gave the stainless a quick rub resoldered and adjusted the shifter mech and took it for a spin it really is amazing this game was on the short list to get going and sell. But now that the scenery drum works it makes it a whole new game.
Will have to find a seat cover for it until I can afford to get the seat re trimmed. I’ll add some new rubber mat and that will be about it. She has survived the years of abuse pretty well
