hello from Firepower
« on: May 30, 2009, 06:39:37 PM »
Hello all,

Can I introduce myself as a new member on the forum. I've had an interest in arcade machines and pinnies since playing them in my youth around the late 70's early 80's. My collection to date is a stand up Space Invaders arcade machine - sadly not operational at the moment and a Mame cocktail cabinet that I built - pictures here if any one is interested  http://picasaweb.google.com/shawvale/Project_Mame  I've been looking in on pin auctions over the last few years as they came up and went a few weeks ago to the Expo in Sydney, here I purchased my first pin, Firepower. I was happy to get this machine for two reasons, firstly it was the game of my youth and secondly there seems to be plenty of info available on it.  Many years ago I did a microprocessor course, specifically on the 6800 series, that covered software and hardware - the irony to me is that I probably spent more time playing pinball than attending the course or studying. I've begun rereading my notes!

The Expo was good and I chatted to a few people there and got info on this forum, browsing has given me some good tips and info.  Off course as a newbie I've got lots of questions that I hope to raise, so I look forward to chatting,

cheers,
David.
