Fuse 104 keeps blowing
« on: May 23, 2020, 07:20:22 PM »
Fuse 104 keeps blowing on my Totan when ball passes through the fireball magnet in play mode.
In test mode all is good no blowing fuses.
Any help appreciated.

I’d say your magnet is just about stuffed in test mode it’s only pulsed,  when it grabs the ball it latches in for longer to grab the ball

Fuse been used is a 4amp FB which is the one specified.
Swapped the vanishing magnet (which works fine) with the fireball magnet but still blows the fuse.

Interesting,     Maybe check the fuse holder has enough tension on the fuse ?

Give the metal tabs a bit of a squeeze in then re insert the fuse?

What brand of fuse are you using. I had a fuse blowing on a tom when a magnet was activated.  I was using a cheap fuse. Changed to a buss fuse and the problem went away

Also check the IDC connector from the Driver board. Make sure the wires on the connector have not become loose. If you don't have an IDC insertion tool, use a flat head screwdriver.

Pretty sure they're a cheap fuse from jaycar.
Where can I get a Bussmann fuse from?

Do you do a kit for people like me new to it mate? I'd like to buy a kit in a tackle tray with say ten of each common size.
Bought a little one from somewhere but they are not the slo-blow.

Not in Bussmann / Littlefuse as they are provided in boxes of 5. We could look at this in the future, as the Bussmann fuses are slowly being made available in larger quantities without packaging.
