Hello from Avoca Beach
« on: September 04, 2009, 08:10:51 PM »
I've been asked also to introduce myself. I've had pinball machines for some 23 years after getting the bug when still a kid. I don't have a large collection - just 3 being an old EM Wild Life, a Black Hole and a Big Guns. I've been fixing them for years and have been on RGP (rec.games.pinball) for a long time. I also co-wrote a guide for the Black Hole sound card with Clay Harrell in the states some years ago- http://www.pinrepair.com/sys80/s80sound.htm- when my black hole was pissing me off.
Its just a hobby- but I do repair 90's pins for a mate who has a business in Sydney. Probably why I don't own any - been spoilt as he has a Twilight Zone, Indt and many others. Wouldn't mind a Lord of the rings though. I also fix em's occasionally. I think the only machines I haven't touched are Zaccarias and anything earlier than say 1960.

Traditionally all my parts have come from PBR, Marco and BAA in the states. Now that Mark.c has parts I'me buying more from him.

I also dabble in mame and cocktail cabs.  Just love the old games and pinball of any generation

Thanks for reading
Tony

$.$ tony and  %)% to AP - Great to see you here

There's a lot of love for system 80s here, so your experience will be very welcome !

I emailed Clay a few months ago with an invitation to join AP - But I never received a response. His guides are mentioned in every second tech thread, so I thought he might get a "kick" out of seeing how many machines are repaired using his techniques on here.

Thanks for all the kind words. Black Hole has been with me for 21 years and is a favourite. Others have come and gone but BH still kicks my butt!
