Yes.. its the reset mech. At start up this whole bank will be enrgised to reset all the switches. There is another coil attached to each of your " metal thingys" ( LOL) and as each relay comes into play, the coil energises pulling the relay switches down again.
If your reset relay is in here and its not closing/operating properly then the motor will just turn continually

OK, that stack is now behaving itself. However, the reset cam is continually turning now (not the score motor). I see lightning coming from the switch stack labeled 'clutch'.

Any ideas?

Bloody Bally's... what the hell is CLUTCH?? LOL

Sometimes the blue flashes/sparks are an indication of what nots engaging properly... make sure its not arcing and that the switches are actually cloosing. Often on the coil tabs ( metal thingys) they get dirty/ misaligned and the relay cannot pull in properly... ensure good operation on these.. sometimes its that the spring on top has been knocked off

HAHAHAH Would you beleive that I have done some research and "CLUTCH" is responsible for engaging and disengaging the cam so that it turns!

Well we have a lead we can follow.. might be a blind alley but we have to follow it through,
So CLUTCH engages and disengages the cam??...Then make sure CLUTCH is engaging and disengaging correctly... we also need to see what controls CLUTCH and this is where i need a schematic im afraid... any chance you can scan that area of the schematic in?

Mmm.. i dont seem to be getting all replise to the treads im active in.. missed your post Millsy.

Anyway... have the cct now.

CLUTCH TRIP..
will have 1 switch on it that must be closed ( Orange/white).. this switch is in parallel to a switch on COIN RELAY (White/Black).. this too must be closed, but for Coin Relay switch to be closed 3C on the SCORE motor MUST be open ( it will pulse as it turns.. if it doesnt pulse, Coin relay wont close and it throws the cct out).

You also need to look at the cct of BROWN /WHITE on RESET motor.. it goes through  Reset Motor #1 & #2, Clutch trip and Strike Advance.... Brown/White on all these should be OPEN... if one of these is never opening then cct will never complete.

Thats basically all that controls the CLUTCH as far as i can see.

Check operation of all these switches... also do it with game turning over as yopu can often see if something isnt pulling in far enough... the metal plates that pull in sometimes go off centre at the top where they go through the plate above the coil... a good working one should move freely, if its a bit tight, its off and its a mechanical adjustment to get it to pull in again properly.
