Ball Popper adjustments
« on: January 24, 2010, 11:41:52 PM »
Maybe someone can setup a thread under tips and hints section on how to adjust (if there is such a thing) ball poppers. My RFM SOL popper will say every 10 ejects from the scoop kind of lob the ball out rather than shoot it along the scoop pathway. When it lobs it out, its a 99.9% straight down the middle drain. There does not seem to be much force put on the ball when it lobs as opposed to when it fires it out correctly. Hope I explained the sympton ok.

So is there a reason for this occuring and better still, a solution/adjustment?

Can be a number of things ;

Loose wire on the coil
Coil Sleeve
End of the mechanism that ejects the ball is "mushroomed"
End of the mechanism that ejects the ball is hitting something on the way up

Thanks Nino have checked the following:
1. all wires ok (on p2000 they slide on)
2. the end of ejector seems ok has the rubber three prong cap on it
3 doesn't look like its hitting anything but can't be sure

haven't checked the sleeve but the coil itself looks like brand new but will check the sleeve. Any other thoughts?

thanks again

Go into diagnostic mode and test that one solenoid and observe any inconsistencies. Even if you have to place the ball in the outhole.
