Fundraiser/Pinball night - Bendigo - Victoria

Hi Guys,

I know that I am a fair bit out from most of the members here, but I am having a fundraiser/pinball night at my place on Friday the 26th Feburary.

I good friend of mine has 4 kids, two of which are autistic, and one that also has Downs.

They are raising money for a special needs dog (labrador) but they have to put in $29,000 of there own money to get the dog.

Variety are organising a dinner with raffles and prizes, and I wanted to try to help them out in my own way.

Anyway, I regually have the boys around for a pinny night at my place, so for this one I am charging people $10 to enter on the night to play the pinnies and cocktail machine.

I will make up some trophies for the night and am orgainzing some things to raffle off, one of which is a back wax if any of you gorillas turn up!

I will put on a BBQ and soft drink for everyone who attends and you can bring your own grog, no dramas.

If any of the Melb boys want to rock up, PM me for an address.

If anyone has anything they would like to donate to raffle on the night, or any ideas, please contact me.

Hmmm, maybe an idea or 2...

Approach local business for things to raffle off? what about getting the local rag in to do a story on the meet? that way, people can donate after reading the story.

For a good cause like this im sure there will be enough interest and good hearted people that will help out!

That is a great idea Angelo, and I would love to get up there to attend.
I have a 4yo son with autism and one of my 2yo twin boys also has autism, my eldest in the high functioning spectrum and is quite normal just a little behind in a few areas, my other son has not been officially tested yet but looks to be a little worse unfortunately.  Both are beautiful boys and I feel lucky that they don't have more serious forms of autism, I could only imagine how overwhelmed your friends feel with a daughter with downs and autism.

OK, today turned out to be my worst nightmare!

I thought I would ask a few mates for some stuff for a auction on the night.

So far I have the following....

Cut and polish and detail from the local smash repairers
Wheel balance and wheel agilment from the local tyre shop
Lawnmower service and garden tools from the local mower shop
A heap of Meguiars gift packs and giveaways
2 dozen bottles of red wine
sports bag, netball and socks from Athletes Foot
Car audio equipement from Pioneer, Sony, Rockford Fosgate and a few other suppliers
Hot rod gear from Australian Kustom imports(trying to get a flame thrower kit from these guys as well.....)
All the parts needed for a car service from the local speed shop
Destroyed engine parts to be powder coated and pinstriped as trophies for the night
I am also digging up some tshirts that I have from the 2004 dB Drag Racing World Finals that are personally signed by Wayne Harris (car sound god)
A big thanks goes to the local Coin Operator Steve Cooper, I asked him tonight if I could hire some machines from him for the night, and he said that he would provided them free of charge and drop them off and pick them up for nicks!
Also a heap of promotional tshirts and hats and that kind of stuff are coming as well.
I think I need a bigger venue......

Im looking forward to this mate should be great! Apart from supplying some LCD's, truss, speakers and as many LED cans as we need to deck your shed out for the night and get the look right I will see if I can come up with some ideas to help chip in some cash!
