Another update on the EWF machine.

All boards and displays have no been sourced and will be on their way here soon. I found some guy in the states who parted out one of these machines and had everything. Cant wait to get the parts and fire it all up. Fingers crossed it all works :)

Great News, If you have problems getting it running give us a hoy!

Ok, I got my boards and displays tonight and have put them on the machine. I noticed the boards have had some modifications. This is what the seller said was done.
"The battery on the MPU has been moved off of the board so no corrosion will ever happen.  I also believe that wires were soldered straight onto the power board, this was all done before I ever received the machine.  These will need to be attached to the connector that is on the MPU."

Can someone confirm if this is ok etc. I have attached some pictures and have started to clean up the machine. The door is coming up nice.

From your pics it looks Ok, just the battery connected to the CPU to hold memory in the RAM.  Is there a diode in line with the battery +ve terminal to stop them being charged if they are not rechargable batterys?

Hey guys I have noticed a fuse clip/holder is broken on one of the transformers on my EWF so the fuse wont stay in and make a connection.. I was searching PSP and found this part. Although it states it is for a gotlieb machine, will it be suitable for my Zac?

Pictures of my holder and the proposed part are included.

perfectly suitable

Yup - what he said - a fuse holder is a fuse holder is a fuse holder.........in this case the replacement will screw to the board and has tags for soldering the same as the original - even takes a 3AG fuse the same.

Perfect!

not at all, George. Best to ask first - that way you can be 100% sure you are doing "the right thing".
