routing adapter for inserts on npc series games
« on: September 09, 2008, 08:56:13 AM »
Hey ive just dropped the insert template proto around at a local CNC guy who is going to knock up the template to .25mm tolerance. This will make the laborious task of insert application a piece of cake. The other part of the 'system' is a modified laminate router with a 1/4 inch spigot and 4mm bit. The template is clear and can be reversed and also orientated in any direction. the first template will be for circular, arrows, them funny looking oval ones and triangles of various sizes.
Ill upload a picture of both the modified router and template when i have them. the second will be squares, superdog type and various arrows and a lightening bolt (large)

regards

Are you routing by hand??

Why not take it to a CNC router - costs time on the machine thats all - is VERY cheap!!

dont forget that it needs to be actually created as a autocad drawing to satisfy the cnc guy....he is not cheap either. :-\

only the first game will be done this way...npct-002 will be the full cad thing, i hope to have the cnc ive knocked up running by then.
