Williams Relay 5580-08994-01
« on: August 05, 2010, 03:14:54 PM »
Hi
Just wondering if anyone knows the best place to but a replacement relay for a Williams Firepower 2

I have found one at a pinball parts supplier  here in Victoria but they are charging $75

The part number is 5580-08994-01
Main problem is that the relay is 4 pole 6 volt
Is there another relay i can replace this with that may be a bit cheaper?

Have tried Jaycar and they dont have anything

Thanks

What's the relay for?   I'd check out pinball spare parts website Just check in the sponsors section

Its the flipper relay

I rang pinball spare parts earlier and they dont have any in stock or couldnt suggest where to get one

I just finished rebuilding the whole playfield, all new coils etc , played 3 games ad then heard the buzzing from the relay and now no flippers

Are you positive its the relay?
Have you removed the driver board and tested the relay with a battery to see if it pulls in?
Just thought I would mention it as normally these are the last part to go, and it might be a cheap 7408 or 7402 chip.

Thanks Skybeaux I will send him a message

Boots - i thought the same thing originally but have changed the chips ( had earlier dramas with the 7406 )

Now every time i turn the power on the flipper relay makes a constant buzzing sound as if it is jammed
Hopefully its a simple fix, not much else can go wrong on this machine  !@#
